Rules to Live By

I got this email the other day and just had to share...makes you think.
Kind of like rules to live by.

ONE.  Give  people more than they expect and do it  cheerfully.
-I wish I was more of this kind of person.  The thought is always there, but the execution is harder to come by...

TWO.
Marry  a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get  older, their conversational skills will be as  important as any other.

- Thankfully Matthew can handle my ramblings and can be a talker himself lol

THREE.
Don't  believe all you hear, spend all you have or  sleep all you want.

- I definitely don't believe everything, although I can be gullible lol (Matthew loves to mess with me on that), I have no problem spending :), and I'm working on the sleep. I don't sleep well at all, but I also hate sleeping in too much.  Feel like I've wasted my day.

FOUR.
When  you say, 'I love you,' mean  it.

- This is something everyone needs to live by.  I tell everyone important to me I love them.  Any conversation on the phone ends in an I love you. It may not sound the most sincere, but I want to make sure everyone I truly cherish, knows I love them...

FIVE.
When  you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the  eye.

- Makes it a lot more genuine.

SIX.
Be  engaged at least six months before you get  married.

- TRUE story! I'd vouch for this and I'm not even engaged ;) lol

SEVEN.
Believe  in love at first  sight.

-  If my love of Tim McGraw is 'love at first sight', I'm good! lol J/k. As a hopeless romantic, I'm not sure I even believe in this...

EIGHT.
Never  laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have  dreams don't have much.

- I've been told everything bad that can happen with a business and the work and effort put into it.  It makes me want to do it more to prove them wrong...

NINE...
Love  deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but  it's the only way to live life completely.

-I love this.  If you don't take chances, if you don't risk your heart being broken, you're never going to fully let anyone in and feel truly loved.

TEN..
In  disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

- This is a good one.

ELEVEN.
Don't  judge people by their  relatives.
-  This is true on so many levels...

TWELVE..
Talk  slowly but think  quickly.

- I'm a fast talker...not always a quick thinker lol

THIRTEEN
When  someone asks you a question you don't want to  answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to  know?'

- Hehe Been there done that :)

FOURTEEN.
Remember  that great love and great achievements involve  great risk.

- You don't live till you've take a few risks, right? Trust God will lead you the right way.

FIFTEEN.
Say  'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.

- Always! lol Almost a habit!

SIXTEEN.
When  you lose, don't lose the  lesson.
- Yeah, I think this comes with age/maturity.

SEVENTEEN.
Remember  the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for  others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

- Everyone's gotta learn this in some way at some time.  Respecting yourself comes first. If you don't respect yourself, you won't respect others, and you won't ever take responsibility for your actions...

EIGHTEEN.
Don't  let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

- I think great friendships can over come disputes.  If they truly know you and they are a true friend, nothing can take that away.  I've got some of the best friends and I wouldn't let anything, especially a little dispute, hurt our friendship.

NINETEEN.
When  you realize you've made a mistake, take  immediate steps to correct  it.

- I can be stubborn...not entirely afraid to admit I'm wrong, but I got a little pride issue with realizing it in a timely and respectful manner...I'm learning! lol

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone.  The caller will hear it in your voice

-This is too funny, because when I answer the phone at work to friends, they know exactly how I'm feeing by the way I answer. lol I love that.
 TWENTY-  ONE
Spend  some time alone.

- I have NO problem with this :) I paid (my parents paid...thanks mom and dad!) my second year of college, to have my own room.  When I moved out of my parents house, I had no problem adjusting to being alone and when I bought my condo, I had no problem buying it alone and living alone.  I am an, off the chart, introvert.  I NEED my me time.  I get so incredibly emotionally drained from too much energy and stimulation from others.
I am super independent. I don't like the idea of depending on someone SO much. I love that my parents raised me to take care of myself and take responsibility for my life.  Best lesson I learned.  They may regret that lol cause I don't go home as much as I should, but I am forever grateful for the influence they had on me and helped mold me into who I am today.  They are amazing...

also, a few things: i just realized you said you wanted to open a retail accessories business-- that would be my dream! and what's your twitter name so i can follow you...andddd did you stop following my blog?! sadfaces if you really did, but i dont see you on my followers list anymore!! was that awkward of me to ask? probably ha, i hope you didnt!! xo
