Songs are so hard because this girl is OBSESSED with music...
I cannot explain my addiction to music. Certain songs take me back to a place in my life, some, the words are so perfect, it's like it was written for me. Others are dreams, precious moments of life I can't wait to experience. Music soothes me. It calms me down, it brings me up, shakes me back to reality and can completely get me lost in my thoughts and the words.
That's the best part of music. I love the words. The stories that writers tell. The ideas usually of love, but also of heartache and struggle. They remind us that everyone has gone through something, but there is always a way out of it. There is always a way to survive to move forward and to see the beauty ahead of you. Songs can say exactly what you want to say to someone in a perfect way.
I love it...Music is an incredibly beautiful gift from God and I am so blessed to have fallen in love with it and blessed to understand it and take each song, each note, each word for exaclty what it is. Life can be related to music and you can usually tell the mood I'm in by what music I'm listening to.
Basically, I. Love. Music...I wish I was a recording artist to bring that joy to others...
So, that being said, it is next to impossible to choose only 2!! But I sure will try because at this moment, here is what pops in my head and the reasons why.
2. Brad Paisley, while every single one of his songs are amazing, I love She's Everything to Me. Mostly, because Matthew says it reminds him of me :) Precious, I know, but I also see myself in this song and when I first heard it, I had always thought that I wanted a guy who say these things in me. Someone who would take me for who I am and love me anyway...
1. The other one lol is Kokomo by the Beach Boys haha and before you judge, let me just give you a little background on why. August 16th, was the anniversary of losing an amazing woman in this world. Someone that touched more lives from a single meeting, than anyone I've every met. She was beautiful and an real angel on earth. She was my mothers best friend and like a second mother to me. I've known her since I was born. Her kids are like siblings to me and we did everything together. We vacationed at least twice a year with them and spent numerous holidays together. The woman could make you pee your pants from laughing so hard...literally! lol She was and is such an inspiration of someone who, despite, not having the best life in the world or thebest luck, put on a happy face and always put everyone else first before herself. She rarely showed frustration and took the attitude of putting her big girl pants on and dealing with it. She didn't let a whole lot get her down, or at least she didnt' show it. So, back to the song, one of the last trips our families took together before she got too sick, was to Aruba. And her and my mom sang this song from the time we knew we were going till the plane ride home lol It just brings me such happy memories of her smile and her gorgeous spirit and heart :)

I know the song has nothing to do with anything, but to me it has everything to do with her and the way she touched my heart and life forever.
